Shami hasn’t played a single Test since the 2023 World Test Championship final. As per a report by The Indian Express, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is very keen of picking up Mohammed Shami for the rest of Australian tour. The report states that BCCI is awaiting the nod of National Cricket Academy to pick Shami for the upcoming BGT Tests. The report adds that BCCI has asked for the final fitness results from the NCA and once he is declared fit, Shami will be pretty much ready to fly to Australia instantly. The third Test match of the five-match series will be played in Brisbane from December 14 to 18.
