India Under-19 women’s cricket team had an outstanding victory in the World Cup on February 2, 2025, Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, for which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now declared a cash reward of Rs 5 crore to them. The young Indian team dominated the tournament thoroughly. The Indian Under-19 women’s team crushingly defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the final and thereby completed the tournament without a single defeat in seven consecutive victories.

Historic Victory for India’s Young Women Cricketers

India defended the title well, winning the World Cup consecutively for the second time. The team’s supremacy during the entire tournament was fantastic. All through the event, the players outdid their opponents at all times. In recognition of their exceptional feat, the BCCI honored the whole team along with the support staff for their excellent effort and hard work. The board commended the team for its exceptional performance and exemplary teamwork spirit.

India’s Spin Attack Thrashes South Africa

Choosing to bowl first, India’s spinners ran amok on South Africa’s batting. The Proteas were reduced to 82 all out, where the highlights belonged to Parunika Sisodia (2/6), Aayushi Shukla (2/9), Vaishnavi Sharma (2/23) and Gongadi Trisha (3/15). In a return match South Africa lost both their openers Simone Lourens and Jemma Botha and India spinners dominated play as South Africa could never recover.

India Smoothly Cruises To Victory

India’s opening batter, Gongadi Trisha, who chased a modest target, was instrumental in the process, taking the attack to the South African bowlers. Even after the dismissal of G Kamalini for 8, Trisha (with an unbeaten 39) and Sanika Chalke (26 off 22) easily guided India to the target within 11.2 overs. Their partnership made India win the final by a commanding nine wickets.

Back-to-Back World Cup Titles For India

India secured their second successive ICC Under-19 Women’s World Cup title with this win, further strengthening their grip on the age group. The 12-team tournament saw the Women in Blue reassert their status as the world’s top team at the youth level.
