After making a successful name for himself as a singer and music composer, Himesh Reshammiya decided to venture into acting in 2007 with his movie ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’. He is back with another film titled ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ and will be seen as the titular character. On Valentine’s Week, Himesh’s film is challenging logic along with magic. Badass Ravi Kumar Review:

The story kickstarts in the 1980s in Muscat, Oman, where a deal happens to reveal the confidential information of India’s secret agents. This task is undertaken by Carlos (played by Prabhu Deva), the don of Muscat, who calls himself a powerful person. He hides the list of secret agents’ names in a microfilm and then signs a deal with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, this news creates havoc in Delhi, and Inspector Ravi Kumar gets assigned the task of stopping this. However, the situation has changed, as the secret reel has reached Laila (Kirti Kulhari). Laila demands the world’s most valuable diamond in exchange for the reel. To obtain this diamond, Carlos’s team makes a deal with Ravi Kumar. But this deal has twists that can blow your mind. The narrative also introduces Madhubala, who is the lover of Ravi Kumar. The plot mainly focuses on Ravi Kumar trying to steal the diamond, obtain the secret reel, foil Pakistan’s plans, and sing Tandoori Nights along with heavy dialogues.

Direction, Writing & Music

Himesh Reshammiya has written and composed music for this film. From the beginning, he has made it clear that logic has no place in this movie. He has featured himself in every frame of the story and has written superhit dialogues with Banti Rathore that will give you goosebumps.

It was already clarified in the trailer, teaser, and songs that the audience will need patience, time, and a completely senseless attitude to enjoy Badass Ravi Kumar. Here, entertainment means three things – Himesh, Himesh, and Himesh. Every aspect of the film is all focused on him.

Director Keith Gomes has kept Himesh as the ‘center of attraction’ throughout the plot. The first half of the film is spent building up Ravi Kumar’s character and introduction. After the interval, Himesh Reshammiya sings his songs with ease and then there’s action and dialogue.

Acting:

Apart from Himesh, the ensemble cast of Prabhudheva, Kirti Kulhari, Sanjay Mishra and Johnny Lever, Saurabh Sachdeva, Prashant Narayanan, Sunny Leone, and Rajesh Sharma have also delivered performances according to the film’s flavor.

Final Thoughts:

Badass Ravi Kumar is presented in the name of 80’s magic, but you can’t embarrass the entire decade of the 80s for the sake of marketing a film. However, for those who want to enjoy BADASS action and dialogue, and that too in the flavor of Tandoori Nights without thinking too much, this film is for them.
