Babar Azam Relieved In Hamiza Mukhtar Sexual Harassment Case, Lahore High Court Summons Complainant

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam is currently going through a tough phase in both his professional and personal life. From being stripped off captaincy by PCB due to poor performance to facing to sexual harassment allegations, nothing seem to be going right for the right-handed Pakistan batter. Babar hasn’t been able to score an international hundreds from more than one year and hence was also dropped from the Test series against England which took place in the month of September.

Babar Azam Gets Relief In Hamiza Mukhtar Sexual Harassment Case

However, in a relief, Hamiza Mukhtar who had filed a sexual harassment case against Babar Azam was summoned by the Lahore High Court. The court asked Akhtar to appear for the next hearing on December 12. The development has come when Babar challenged the trial court’s decision to register a case against him. Justice Mohammed Waheed Khan presiding over the case, extended the stay order for filing case on Babar Azam. Babar was represented by Barrister Haris Azmat.

What Were The Allegations Against Babar Azam?

Hamiza Akhtar was in a long-term relationship with Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam. Hamiza alleged that she had become pregnant during the relationship and Babar pressurised him to drop the child. She further added that Babar had promised her for marriage and will surely resolve the matter. While filing a case against Babar Azam, Hamiza also attached the medical documents to make her case strong. The FIR was filed by the police on the basis of these documents. Hamiza also alleged that the police were very much reluctant to act on her complaint.
