Aneet Padda, who has been receiving praise for her role in ‘Saiyaara’, has officially joined Maddock Films’ Horror Comedy Universe. She will star in ‘Shakti Shalini’, which was announced at the end-credit scene of ‘Thamma’. Ayushmann Khurrana, who is the lead of Thamma, has welcomed Aneet to the horror comedy universe and extended his best wishes.

Welcoming Aneet, Ayushmann wrote on Instagram, “Welcome to the MHCU, @aneetpadda… Punjabi aa gaye oye!! From one dreamer to another – keep chasing what you want. Nothing is impossible.. so proud to see someone from Punjab making us all proud.. Can’t wait to see you shine in Shakti Shalini! Onwards and upwards, Aneet.”

Shakti Shalini will reportedly arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026. It was reported that Kiara Advani was roped in to play the lead role in ‘Shakti Shalini’ but she opted out of the project.

Aneet Padda is currently receiving praise for her stellar performance in ‘Saiyaara’ alongside Ahaan Panday. After the film’s release, the actress penned a heartfelt note for fans. She wrote, “The daze is wearing off, and all I want to say is that I love you. I don’t know you. But I know that I love you. All this love you’ve been so generous to give me, it’s sitting heavy in my chest, and I don’t know what to do except give it back. I’m scared of what’s next, scared I won’t be enough, but whatever I have, even the smallest piece of me, I’ll put it out there.”

Before ‘Saiyaara’, Aneet starred in ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ and ‘Salaam Venky’.

Talking about ‘Thamma’, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles.  It focuses on Alok Goyal, a historian, who turns into a vampire and gets caught up in a war between the vetalas and their rogue leader, Yakshashan.
