Concerns over the 2025 Asia Cup are escalating, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a few other member boards have stated their intention to boycott the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting if it takes place in Dhaka. Currently, the ACC meeting is scheduled on July 24 in Bangladesh’s capital, but the tension over its location has added to the ongoing concerns about the tournament’s future.

According to India Today reports, the BCCI has officially informed ACC and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi that it will not participate in the meeting if it is held in Dhaka. This decision comes amid ongoing political tensions between India and Bangladesh.

Various reports states that the BCCI has clearly conveyed its stance to ACC chairman Naqvi and even personally requested a change in venue.

In fact, any decisions taken during a meeting held without the participation of major board members would be considered invalid—as per the ACC constitution. The report also suggests that Naqvi’s insistence on holding the meeting in Dhaka is being observed as an attempt to put undue pressure on India regarding matters related to the Asia Cup. There are only five days left for the meeting, and to date, there’s no official announcement from ACC about a change in venue. After keeping a keen eye on the statement, we can say that there has been no response so far.
