Thousands of people were seen crowding the shopping malls and underground train stations in the national capital. Experts have now warned that such behaviour could lead to a resurgence in the number of coronavirus infections in Delhi.

According to reports, the disease experts have said that there should be no rush in resuming business and that it would compromise the vaccination process as only 5 per cent of the total 950 million eligible adults have been vaccinated so far.

Doctors have said that the near-complete unlocking of the national capital is a matter of concern right now. The authorities have said that they will reimpose curbs if the cases begin to rise.

The second wave had cripples several Indian cities including the national capitals that stayed on the edge with thousands of people crying for beds, oxygen and ICUs during the last few months.

Things remained very grim and people paid 20 times the price of medicines and ambulances as their loved ones struggled to survive the deadly disease.

All this time, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal put the capital city in lockdown mode since April 20. The unlocking started a few weeks ago and since then people have been moving about as things are opening up now. Delhi has been reporting less than 30 daily coronavirus cases for the last few days and the positivity rate has also come down considerably.
