The much-awaited trailer of Sarpatta Parambarai directed by Pa Ranjith has been unveiled by Suriya on his official Twitter handle, today. Versatile actor Arya plays a boxer and the film is set in the backdrop of boxing clubs culture in North Madras in the 1970s.
This is the first collaboration between Pa Ranjith and Arya. It also stars Kalaiarasan and John Kokken in a key role as a boxer. Dushara makes her debut as the heroine with the film, while popular actor Pasupathi has played a crucial role.

Arya got shredded to play the role of a boxer called Kabilan in Sarpatta Parambarai. His performance is likely to set a new standard for boxing films in Tamil. The movie revolves around a clash between Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai clans in North Madras.
Recently, director Pa Ranjith had announced that Sarpatta Parambarai will release on Amazon Prime Video on July 22. “For an individual as well as for a society, there is a gulf between merely living and living worthily – Babasaheb. On March 28, the BTS video of the characters from Sarpatta Parambarai was released by makers. The three-minute video introduced the lead characters of the movie. Apart from Arya, who has undergone a physical transformation in order to prepare for the role, it had also shown John Kokken and Kalaiyarasan training for their roles.
The sports drama is produced by K9 Studios in association with Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions. Sarpatta Parambarai has music scored by Santhosh Narayanan, while editor Selva handles the cuts. Cinematography is handled by Murali G who has worked for films like Madras, Kabali, and Kaala.
Actor Arya’s previous film was Teddy, which was received with a mixed response at the box office. Sarpatta will be Ranjith’s fifth directorial project after Attakathi, Madras, Kabali, and Kaala.
