As tensions escalate between India and Pakistan, a video from Pakistan’s Upper House has gone viral, featuring Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan making provocative remarks about Ayodhya. In the video, she says, “The first brick for the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya will be laid by a soldier from Pindi, and the first azaan will be given by Army Chief Asim Munir himself.” She also claims that Sikh personnel in the Indian Army would refrain from attacking Pakistan due to its religious significance for them.

“If they are threatening Pakistan, then let them know that the Sikh army will not attack Pakistan because it’s the land of Guru Nanak for them,” referring to the religious significance of the country for Sikhs.

Who Is Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan?

Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan has been a part of the Upper House since March 2021. She represented the province of Sindh in a women’s reserved seat from 2008 to 2013. Palwasha Khan is the niece of Fozia Behram, a politician and businesswoman. Voters elected Fozia Behram as the only woman to the Punjab Assembly in the general elections held between 1988 and 1990. Palwasha Khan is a member of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and deputy information secretary.

About Pak Army

“Our army is not just six or seven lakh soldiers, we have 250 million people who, when the time comes, will stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces and become soldiers themselves, God willing.”
The speech has since circulated widely on social media platforms, drawing sharp reactions amid the already strained ties between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. She even went on to praise Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who is a designated terrorist under Indian law. “I want to salute Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, who courageously declared that no Indian soldier will be allowed to cross into Pakistan from Indian Punjab.”

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari

Apart from her, recently, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari made a provocative statement after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. He was speaking at a public rally, where the former Pakistani Foreign Minister warned India’s Indus Water Treaty Suspension, claiming that Pakistan was the true guardian of the Indus civilisation.

He accused India of unilaterally scrapping the agreement and threatened, “The Indus is ours and will remain ours. Either our water will flow through it, or their (Indians’) blood will.”
