Apple has announced a new earpods variant, the Studio Buds wireless earphones, which comes as the affordable option to their AirPod versions. Priced at $149.99 or just under Rs 11,000, it hardly seems like an affordable option for earphones but again as compared to the over Rs 20,000 price tag for AirPods, it seems like a bargain. This is the latest in the lineup of Beats headphones while also sending a strong message in dividing the premium and affordable lineup of products.
The Studio Buds are not only more affordable, they are also more compatible than AirPods. Studio Buds can be charged via a USB-C port connector rather than Apple’s Lightning cord and it also has a dedicated Android App, which makes for over 2.5 billion users worldwide according to a report by The Verge.
