Apple will soon launch iPad Pro with wireless charging and a new iPad Mini

Apple is working on launching a new variant of the iPad Pro which will support wireless charging for a truly wireless experience. The Cupertino-based company will also release the first redesign for the iPad Mini in 6 years, soon.

iPads have been immensely helpful to keep Apple’s total sales up especially during the pandemic when users had a huge shift in usage as they remained to stay at home for extended periods of time.

Apple will release the new iPad Pro in 2022 but the new iPad Mini will be launched in September 2021. One of the most significant changes for the iPad Pro will be a glass back panel from the existing aluminum back panel.

The bezels will be thinner with also the possibility of getting rid of the home button at the bottom of the device. The past year has shown how big of a portfolio champion the iPad has become for Apple as people turned to the device for work, study, and entertainment during the COVID lockdowns across the globe.

Apple’s sales for iPads of all varieties went up by 43% in the last half of 2020 as compared to the last half of 2019, before the COVID pandemic hit us like a sledgehammer.

The positive gains continued in the first quarter of 2021 as well with iPads alone generating revenue worth $7.8 billion, which was a 79% increase in sales for the same year as compared to 2020’s first quarter.

With wireless charging, the need for a traditional wired charger also goes out of the window as well as makes way for an inductive mat, allowing users to charge their devices faster.

The charging mat is quite common for smartphones but is practically unheard of for tablets. iPhones first got wireless charging in 2017 with MagSafe coming to the foray in 2020. Will 2021 see MagSafe for iPads be launched as well?
