Alia Bhatt Allegedly Defrauded of ₹1 Crore: Reddit User’s Shocking Claim

Alia Bhatt has been busy promoting her upcoming film Jigra, where she plays the role of a sister to actor Vedang Rana. While she is receiving a lot of attention and praise for the forthcoming film, the Gully Boy actor has sparked discussion on social media platform Reddit for allegedly being defrauded of ₹1 crore.

A Reddit user claims that the actor was cheated by her own manager. Without naming Alia, the user wrote, “This Bollywood actress, whose ‘brother-sister’ (Hinting at Jigra) is releasing in a month, is a victim of fraud. A PR manager of hers used the actress’s ₹1 crore to pay her house rent, buy the latest phones, and purchase other expensive items for herself, while the actress was unaware of it.”

Sharing more details, the user added, “The fraud came to light when the actress’s soni-soni mother (Apparently Soni Razdan) found a transaction of around ₹2 lakhs for cheese dip in the actress’s account books; it had somehow been missed by the actress’s accountants.”

“They’re still trying to figure out whether the fraud occurred just once or had been ongoing for a longer period,” the Reddit post further shared.

Reddit Users Comment

Though no name was mentioned throughout the post, several Reddit users took to the comment section to confirm that it was about Alia. Recalling Alia’s previous interviews, one of the user commented, “Alia always claimed her mother handled all her money and even her career at the beginning so I’m surprised Soni lost her focus and allowed this to happen.” Another wrote, “Life ho toh aisi. 1 cr ka fraud ho gaya aur pata nahi chala.”

Fans Defend The Actor

Amid this, a few fans also defended Alia and explained how the post makes no sense. “Accounts won’t show reason of purchase, it would only show the parties involved in transaction. If PR manager got 1CR, how does how they use that money show up in the celeb’s ledger? Are you saying the PR manager got hold of the celeb’s card ? There is no way, the celeb or their accountant would be unaware of purchase of 2lacs, banks deliberately send message even if 3DS is disabled, for acknowledgement at least,” commented a user on the Reddit post.

Further mentioning about the limited transactions allowed on a card, the user added, “If it were credit card that was handed over to the manager(which is the only possible scenario if any of this is true), the card would have a high limit and no way a bank is going to allow 1CR credit in a month, it would be flagged as fraud and the card would be blocked immediately also the person who owns the card would get a phone call straight from the bank. Credit cards don’t allow such high limits hawa mein.”
