Two soldiers were killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar, according to a senior army officer.

Two Terrorists Killed In Separate Gunfight

In another encounter in Kathua, armed forces from the Rising Star Corps shot and killed two terrorists.

Based on intelligence inputs, the army officials stated they launched a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police in Chatroom, Kishtwar. They made contact with the terrorists at 3:30 PM. During the firefight, two soldiers were killed, and the operation is still ongoing.

The gunfight in Kishtwar’s Chatroo started after security forces launched an operation in the area. The White Knight Corps posted on X that the encounter is still ongoing.

Terrorists Involved Have A Connection With Doda Encounter

Sources said the terrorists involved in the Kishtwar encounter are connected to a July encounter in Doda, where four soldiers, including an officer, were killed. The encounters occurred just days before the September 18 voting in eight assembly segments in Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts, as well as 16 seats in south Kashmir’s Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, and Kulgam districts.

PM Modi To Hold A Rally In J&K

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to campaign in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. Jammu, Kathua, and Samba districts will vote in the second and third phases on September 25 and October 1.
