The budget introduced by Yogi government has brought a major present for the Taj City. The Pan-Maya Metro Rail project acquired funding approval from Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) after they allocated Rs 93 crores in budget. The budget allocation will enable higher speed of progress in metro construction work.

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) asked for Rs 93 crores from the UP government to finalize last phase of construction work.

According to the available information the requested funds were split into three distinct divisions. The Rs 40 crores together with the Rs 53 crores in taxation expenses and additional work installations made up the funding demand for first and second corridors construction. The completion timetable for metro construction will speed up because UPMRC receives its total budget allocation.

The metro system plans to initiate operations to Khandari starting from June. Construction of SN Medical College, Agra College, Raja Ki Mandi, RBS, ISBT, Guru Ka Tal and Sikandra stations is going on.

In the first corridor of the Agra Metro there are total 13 stations. The metro is running from Taj East till Mankamseshwar. The metro system serves passengers on its current Mankameshwar station to Taj East Gate route. Once the expansion is done the metro will cover 29.4 Km.

Under the current plan stations from Mankameshwar to Sikandra will be completed by May after a funding acquisition takes place. The Metro service line construction will launch operations before June and the second route covering 15 kilometers of distance will serve the city. The extended section of the route will begin at Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar.

As reported by Zee Uttar Pradesh, the budget of Rs 8000 crore has been proposed for the construction of this metro. As per media reports, 60% of the expenditure will be given by banks ad rest 40% by the state and central government.
