After fallout with Karan Johar, has Kartik Aaryan also lost out on a SRK-backed film? Here’s what we know

Earlier this year, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan was replaced from Karan Johar’s Dostana 2. The news left the fans of the actor in shock and lead to a massive social media outrage. While Karan Johar’s production house didn’t reveal the actual reason, different speculations were made. Now, according to a report, Kartik has opted out of a Red Chillies project.

Red Chillies production house is backed by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. The couple has a great relationship with the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director, so Kartik’s decision to opt out appears interesting to say the least.

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source shared, “Kartik Aaryan was to feature in Ajay Bahl’s social comedy that was being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies. However, the actor has now walked out of the project that was supposed to commence the shoot in a few months. Apparently, creative differences developed between Kartik and the director Ajay Bahl due to which the actor decided on leaving the project.”

Meanwhile, no announcement has been made about the decision so far. In April, Dharma Production had shared a statement announcing Kartik’s departure. The same reads, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon”

Currently, Kartik has been in news for a variety of projects.

He will be soon seen in an OTT film Dhamaka. It is in the post-production process and has been directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by RSVP Movies, Ram Madhvani Films, Lotte Cultureworks and Global Gate Entertainment. Kartik will be seen in the role of a journalist. It is a different project for the star who is well-known for comic roles.

Apart from this, he is also a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which is a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 popular horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film will also star  Kiara Advani and Tabu in leading roles. It is being directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar.

On the personal front, Kartik has recently recovered from Covid-19 and is currently spending all his time at home with his family
