During the recent promotions of recently released film Chhaava, female lead actress Rashmika Mandanna found herself at the embroiled in a controversy. As during the promotions of the film she was asked about her hometown and answering to this Rashmika, who is originally from Karnataka, replied that “I’m from Hyderabad.”

Her reply did not fir well with most of the audience, specially with the Kannadigas, who felt that Rashmika was distancing herself from her origin. According to them, she is now a very popular figure of the film industry and maybe because of that is is so lost in her fame that she forgot about her roots. The trollers targeted Rashmika continuously accusing her of not acknowledging her Kannada background.

However, her team issued a statement after the incident, clarifying that there was no intentional refusal of her origins. But despite this, trolling continued and seemed to grow.

Ramya Opens Up On The Controversy

Now, recently Kannada actress Ramya came forward and spoke up about the issue. Speaking about the situation, Ramya said, “People should stop this culture of trolling. I see how Rashmika is getting attacked daily and feel bad about it. She is always at the receiving end.” The actress seemed to defend the Puspha 2 star and told people to stop the trolling.

Ramya also discussed how social media trolling has a direct impact on one’s mental health, particularly for women. “Women are soft targets. Those who troll must understand the mental turmoil women go through,” she stated.
