Young Indian sensation, Abhishek Sharma attached his name in the record Books with the breathtaking innings of 135 runs in just 54 balls against England in the fifth T-20 international at Mumbai‘s iconic Wankhede Stadium. This led to a comfortable 150 runs victory over the visitors. He smashed half century in just 17 balls which is still not near to his mentor’s, Yuvraj Singh‘s record which is 50 in just 12 balls which he is matched against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Till now Abhishek Sharma has been featured in 17 matches in which he scored 535 runs with an impressive strike rate of 193.84, where he hit two centuries and two half centuries. In contrast, Yuvraj Singh scored 481 runs with a strike rate of 153.67 in his first 17 matches Yuvraj Singh debut for the T20 format in 2007 against Scotland where he did not bat. But in the second match when India clashed with Pakistan on 14 September 2007, he got out on one run where Mohammed Asif dismissed him. Although Yuvraj Singh did not hit any centuries during the first 17 matches, of his T20 career, still, he smashed 5 half centuries one of which was the monstrous 58 runs innings in 16 balls where he hit Six consecutive sixes to Stuart Broad.

India won the five match T-20 international series by marginal lead of 41 and this was possible majorly because of the contribution of Abhishek Sharma as he also performed exceptionally in the series opener at Eden Gardens, where he scored 73 runs. A wonderful career wait for young Abhishek Sharma in the future as he has cemented his position in the Indian dugout with such exceptional performances.
