Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Mahaveer Jain will join Hon. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu And Kashmir Manoj Sinha in Srinagar on Thursday, August 5 to launch a new film policy to make Kashmir a favourite shooting-friendly destination. Earlier a delegation of leading filmmakers like; Imtiaz Ali, Nitesh Tiwari, Dinesh Vijan, Ekta Kapoor, Ashwiny Iyer, Ssanjay Tripaathy, led by Producer Mahaveer Jain met Hon. LG Mr Sinha and Principal Secretary to the LG Mr Nitishwar ji in Mumbai and shared their suggestions to draft this new film policy to encourage film-shooting in J&K.

The development comes days after Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Kiran Rao met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha wherein they discussed how J&K can be made a “favourite” shooting location.

The L-G shared a photo and wrote, “Met renowned film actor Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao today. We discussed new film policy of J&K, which will be released shortly. The discussion also focused on reviving J&K glory in Bollywood and making it a favourite film shooting destination.”

The actor moved to Srinagar after wrapping up the Ladakh portion of the shoot of  Laal Singh Chaddha. As per reports, Aamir spoke to reporters at Ladakh where he said people there have a good heart and that they had a great experience working there. He said that Kargil’s infrastructure is quite advanced and that they had no problem accomodating their huge crew there.

Aamir and Kiran recently took their fans by surprise when they announced their amicable separation in a statement. They also announced that they would be co-parenting their son and would carry on their work with utmost professionalism.
