Aamir khan’s last film Laal Singh Chaddha, for which he was also a producer, did not perform well at the box office. Post that, Mr Perfectionist has been very cautious of his next project. Earlier, a report by Pinkvilla stated that he is considering five big films at the moment, namely the Ujjwal Nikam Biopic, Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy Char Din Ki Zindagi, a superhero film by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Zoya Akhtar’s next and the sequel to his cult blockbuster Ghajini. While no confirmation on that has come yet, a new report by Pinkvilla now suggests that the actor is also discussing Kishore Kumar;s biopic with Anurag Basu.
According to sources close to the production, Kishore Kumar biopic is a passion project for Basu, who has been contemplating it for a long time now. “The biopic is a subject close to the heart of Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar and they are looking to bring it to the spectacle in the best possible way,” the media publication quoted the source. The report further mentioned about Aamir Khan’s love for the legendary singer and added, “Aamir is also a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and loved the vision that Basu has to bring the life of legend to the spectacle. The filmmaker has treated it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most”
Both parties – Anurag and Aamir – have therefore met for 4-5 times to discuss the film, and it looks like audience will get some concrete information on the project very soon.
The source further informed that there are as many as six projects in the line now. However, the actor will have to take a call and let go of three films out of these. “Aamir has taken as many as 6 films into consideration, and every film is in different stages of development. While the script of Kishore Kumar Biopic, Ujjwal Nikam Biopic, and Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy is locked, Ghajini 2, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next, and Zoya Akhtar’s next are in the development stage. While the actor has liked all the films, he will take a call on his next project by the end of this year. He is however expected to do 3 of these films and let the other 3 go,” added the report.
