Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, has now confirmed his upcoming project. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he will team up with renowned Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next. For the unversed, Lokesh has worked with superstars like Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay, Rajinikanth, Karthi and many more.

While speaking to PTI, Aamir Khan said, “Lokesh and I are working on a film, it is a superhero film. It is a big-scale action film and it will start next year, second half.” Talking about his other projects, he added, “‘PK 2’ is a rumour. I’m doing Dadasaheb Phalke biopic, Raju and I are working on it.”

He also talked about making a movie on Mahabharata, which has been a dream for him for many years. Aamir shared, “‘Mahabharata’ has been my dream for the last 25 years. It is not a film. When you are making ‘Mahabharata’, you are not making a film, you’re surrendering. I’m trying, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to fulfil my dream. Till the time I don’t make a basic foundation for it, I won’t be able to answer . I don’t have the right information right now. All I know is I’m going to start work on it.”

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is busy shooting for ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. It is the remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions.

According to reports, Aamir Khan will skip OTT release for Sitaare Zameen Par and will choose the ‘pay-per-view’ method. In pay-per-view method, the viewers will need to pay specifically for the particular film they want to see. They wouldn’t need to access any OTT platform to get access to the movie of their choice. This method is similar to theatres as the individual will be paying for the movie they want to see. It also gives more benefits to the producers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan wants to use this method for Sitaare Zameen Par. A source told the publication, “Aamir doesn’t want to release his films directly on streaming after their theatrical run, as it discourages viewers from watching movies on the big screen. It is also a reason why there is no streaming logo on the poster of Sitaare Zameen Par.”
