The first thing to do after moving to a new home is to update your Aadhaar. Changing your address will soon be easier, as a new version of the updating system is being introduced. To change your address, all you need is a valid address proof or an address verification letter. In addition, updating your name, date of birth, and phone number will also become simpler. A new online system will soon allow you to complete all these changes in just five easy steps. From November 2025, key Aadhaar details such as mobile number, address, name, and date of birth can be revised online.

Why the new system to simplify Aadhaar update?

Aadhaar Update October 2025: The new online system will reduce paperwork, making the process more convenient and enabling faster verification through existing government databases like PAN, passport, and ration card. This means you can skip visiting the enrollment center for most updates, saving you time as well.

UIDAI’s Update on Aadhar Card

The new move to automatically cross-verify the user information using existing government documents like PAN, passport, and ration card will help you eliminate the repeated need for document upload.

What bills will be accepted as Address proof?

The utility bills—such as electricity bills—will be accepted as valid address proof. This will help you update your address in no time by making the update procedure more efficient.

  • A revamped mobile app is expected to launch soon.
  • The app will offer a digital Aadhaar with QR code functionality.
  • With this upgrade, physical photocopies will no longer be needed.
  • Users can securely share a digital or masked version of their Aadhaar whenever required.

Will UIDAI Charge for the service?

You can change only your address for free on the myAadhaar portal until June 14, 2026. To do this, your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number because you will get an OTP (One-Time Password) for verification.

If your mobile number is not linked, it’s important to update it soon so you can use all the new Aadhaar-based digital services.
