The creators of ‘Game of Thrones’ will return with the show’s prequel or spin-off titled ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’. The popularity of George R.R. Martin’s novel and series has led to its expansion, and the audience is excited to see it. Despite the hype, many viewers are not aware about the connection between the two series.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ Connection to Game Of Thrones:

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ is the prequel of ‘Game Of Thrones’, set a century before the events of the series. The prequel will showcase the origins and backstory of Westeros. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s novel ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’, where the main characters set the foundation of the Targaryen dynasty.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ira Parker, a former writer on House of the Dragon and co-creator of this next six-episode series, said, “All decisions came down to Dunk, trying to channel the type of person he is into every aspect of this show, even the title sequence.”

“The title sequences on the original [Game of Thrones] and House of Dragon are big and epic and incredible. Ramin Djawadi’s score is orchestral and large and beautiful. That’s not really Dunk’s M.O. He’s plain and he’s simple and he’s to-the-point. He doesn’t have a lot of flash to him,” she added.

Peter Claffey has been confirmed to star as Ser Duncan the Tall, the titular role. Dexter Sol Ansell, Finn Bennett, Bertie Carvel, Tanzyn Crawford, Daniel Ings and Sam Spruell will also appear in the lead roles.

The series will release on HBO Max in January 2026 and will stream in India on JioHotstar. It is executive produced by George R. R. Martin, Ira Parker, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis.
