Actor Mushtaq Khan has come forward, claiming he was recently kidnapped under the pretense of attending an event. According to his business partner, Shivam Yadav, Khan was invited to an award show in Meerut on November 20. He received an advance payment and flight tickets but was soon driven away to the outskirts of Delhi, near Bijnor, after arriving in Delhi.
Shivam Yadav told that Khan was held captive for nearly 12 hours and subjected to torture. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of one crore rupees and ultimately took more than Rs 2 lakh from Khan’s and his son’s bank accounts. Early in the morning, hearing the azaan, Khan managed to escape and sought help from a nearby mosque before the police rescued him and brought him home.
Evidence And Legal Action
Shivam Yadav confirmed that they have flight tickets, bank records, and CCTV footage from the airport area that could potentially help the police track down the culprits. An official FIR was filed in Bijnor, and the team is confident that the police will soon apprehend those responsible.
“The Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken by the incident,” Yadav said. “But he was always sure he would file an FIR once he composed himself. We hope the police action will lead to the culprits’ capture.”
Resemblance To Recent Incident
The incident bears a striking similarity to comedian Sunil Pal’s kidnapping case, prompting concerns about a possible syndicate targeting celebrities for ransom. Yadav mentioned that they had no prior knowledge of the case until Sunil Pal’s situation came to light in the media.
“It is shocking that two public figures from the industry went through a similar ordeal,” Yadav said. “We hope for better awareness and protection in the future for everyone.”
Current Status
Mushtaq Khan is reported to be doing fine as of now and is expected to address the media in a few days.
