NZ vs ENG 2nd Test: England Register Unique Record, Becomes First Team To Score 5 Lakh Test Runs

England has been a place which is known for the birth of ‘gentlemen’s game’ cricket. The country introduced the tradition of cricket to the whole world and needs a lot applause. England are the country which plays the most Test cricket during the whole year and the same passion is given to the sport by the crowd present in the country. The England national cricket team is currently playing against New Zealand in the second Test of the three-match series in Wellington. The Ben Stokes led side has achieved a brilliant grip over the match and currently lead by 533 runs in the second innings.

Apart from tightening their grip over the match, England registered a unique record behind their name. The English team became the first ever nation to score five lakh Test runs and the milestone was achieved on Day 2 of NZ vs ENG 2nd Test. England also holds the record of playing the most Test matches. Getting back to the match, England have achieved a score of 378/5 in 76 overs in their second innings. English batter Joe Root has finally regained his lost touch and is currently playing at a score of 73 runs from 106 balls.

Before, New Zealand were wrapped up for 125 runs in their first innings. England pacers Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse picked up four wickets apiece whereas Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes have picked one wicket respectively. The Kiwi team now needs a miracle from here to win the match. The English team is expected to declare the innings as soon as possible on Day 3. However, with more three days left in the match, they can go onto score more runs as they can.
