US President-elect Donald Trump announced his campaign manager Susan Summerall Wiles as White House Chief of Staff. After winning presidential election this week, this announcement comes as a major appointment made by Donald Trump. 67-year-old, Susan Summerall Wiles will serve as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in the history of the US.
Susan’s appointment was confirmed by US Vice President-elect JD Vance. He wrote on X, “This is great news. Susie was a huge asset to President Trump on the campaign and will be a huge asset in the White House. She’s also just a really good person. Onward!”
In a statement posted on X, he said, “The 45th and 47th President of the United States of America Donald J. Trump announced today that Susan Summerall Wiles, the winning Campaign Manager for President Trump’s highly successful 2024 Campaign for President, will be named President Trump’s White House Chief of Staff.”
President Donald Trump said that Susan helped him achieve one of the greatest victories. He recalled that Susie was an integral part of both his 2016 and 2020 political campaigns. Trump said, “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns.”
“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well-deserved honour to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud,” the statement further read.
Who Is Susie Wiles?
Born in May 14, 1957 in New Jersey, Susan Summerall Wiles is an American political consultant and a Republican strategist from Florida. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is the daughter of football broadcaster Pat Summerall. She was married to a fellow Republican political consultant, Lenny Wiles. However, the couple divorced in 2017.
Career
Her early career in politics included working for New York Rep. Jack Kemp and both in the Reagan campaign and administration. She made a name for herself in Florida in 1995, helping Delaney become the first Republican mayor of Jacksonville since the Reconstruction era. She managed Rick Scott’s successful 2010 campaign for Florida governor and briefly served as campaign manager for former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman’s 2012 presidential bid.

Wiles ran Donald Trump campaign’s operations in Florida in the 2016 US presidential election. In March 2021, Wiles was chosen as CEO of Trump’s Save America Political Action Committee (PAC).
