Former US President and Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump in his latest election stunt, boarded a garbage truck. Trump’s move aimed to draw attention to the remark made by US President Joe Biden where he had apparently called Trump’s supporters as ‘garbage’ on Sunday. Before getting into the cabin of the garbage truck, Trump said, “250 million people are not garbage, I can tell you who the real garbage is, but I won’t tell you.” He then climbed the vehicle and from the cabin asked about his garbage truck. “How do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honour of Joe Biden and Kamala,” said Trump. He added that Joe Biden should be ashamed of himself if he knows what he is even doing. In his statement, Trump further attacked Vice President and Democratic Party nominee, Kamala Harris. He said, “Kamala Harris should also be ashamed because she shouldn’t let him do it as she is the Vice President.”
What Did Trump Say?
He asserted that he loves Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico loves him too. Trump said, “I just love Puerto Rico, nobody has done more for Puerto Rico than me.” He then recounted the times when he took care of people of Puerto Rico. “I took care of them when they had the big hurricane and nobody gets along better with Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican people than me, they love me and I love them.”
He further said that he doesn’t know anything about the comedian and he hasn’t seen him. But he added that he is aware of the statement made by him.
Trump even took to X and wrote, “YOU CAN’T LEAD AMERICA IF YOU DON’T LOVE AMERICANS—AND YOU CAN’T BE PRESIDENT IF YOU HATE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!”
His post read as “While I am running a campaign of positive solutions to save America, Kamala Harris is running a campaign of hate. She has spent all week comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history. Now, on top of everything, Joe Biden calls our supporters “garbage.” You can’t lead America if you don’t love the American People. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have shown they are both unfit to be President of the United States.”
Trump said that he is proud to lead the biggest, broadest, and most important political coalition in American history. “We are welcoming historic numbers of Latinos, African Americans, Asian Americans, and citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed. It is my desire to be the President of all the people,” added Trump.
Joe Biden’s Clarification
US President Joe Biden had issued clarification on his statement and usage of word ‘garbage’ after he faced massive backlash from the people. He wrote on X, “Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say. The comments at that rally don’t reflect who we are as a nation.”
