Team India will be playing second Test against New Zealand on October 24 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Till now only two Tests have been played in Pune, in 2017 India played Australia where the Aussies beat India by a massive margin of 333 runs. But in the year 2019, tables turned for India when they played against South Africa and won the match by an innings and 137 runs. In this match Virat Kohli won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his supreme heroics, team India took a dominating lead of 3-0 in the three-match Test series.

Team India elected to bat first and the Proteas’ bowling attack failed to make an impact following which India declared at the score of 601/5. Even though Rohit Sharma lost an early wicket but Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara formed a soild-partnership of 138 runs which had already put India in driver seat.
The Indian captain with Ajinkya Rahane further consolidated with 178, when Rahane was out to 59. Kohli then combined with Ravindra Jadeja to compile 225 runs for the fifth wicket, though Jadeja’s dismissal came just short of a deserved century, when he was dismissed for 91, and India declared their innings while Kohli remained not out at 254.
After India’s stellar performance courtesy Virat Kohli’s 254 runs knock South Africa came in to bat and were bowled out at the score of 275 after which they got a follow on and were further bowled out for 189. Ravichandran Ashwin was the star bowler for India as he took 6 wickets in total.
