Renowned choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza, have been booked by Maharashtra Police for allegedly defrauding a dance group of ₹11.96 crores. News agency PTI confirmed the development, reporting that a case has been registered against Remo his wife and five others in Thane district.

Others accused in the complaint include Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, and Ramesh Gupta. A Police official has confirmed that they have started the investigation in this case.

The report was filed by a 26-year-old dancer who alleged that his troop was cheated by the aforementioned individuals between 2018 and July 2024. The troop participated in a television reality show and won but the accused pretended as winners of the show and took away the prize money. The complaint was registered on October 16 under the Sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating), and other relevant Indian Penal Code sections.
