Tamil actor Oviya Helen took a strong step against the perpetrator, who shared a fake intimate and private video of her. The video clip was morphed and widely circulated on social media platform X purposefully to insult Oviya and tarnish her image, informed the actor’s manager while confirming her decision to move legally against it.
According to a report by Hindustan Times Tamil, Oviya, known for working primarily in Malayalam and Tamil films, filed a complaint at Thrissur police station alleging that an old friend, Thariq, was behind the viral morphed video of her. According to a Hindustan Times report, Oviya stated that Thariq was a friend until his behavior became unacceptable, prompting her to distance herself. She claimed that Tariq, angered by her decision, released the morphed video to take revenge from her. Furthermore, Oviya revealed in her complaint that Tariq possesses several other morphed videos and mocked images of women he knows or has been in contact with.

Oviya recently addressed online harassment via her Instagram handle, responding sarcastically to trolls. Her replies, including “Next time bro” and “Enjoy,” didn’t sit well with some fans and followers, who felt she wasn’t providing clear answers or clarification on the issue and might be involved somehow. Oviya, whose real name is Helen Nelson, is a popular actor in the South Indian film industry.
