Former BJP MP Navneet Rana from Amravati, Maharashtra has received a letter threatening her with gang-rape. The sender identified himself as Aamir and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore. The letter also included the slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and contained the phone number of the sender. He used offensive language for Rana in his letter and also made derogatory remarks about her husband, Ravi Rana.

According to sources, Husband Ravi Rana’s Personal Assistant Vinod Guhe has filed a complaint with the Rajapeth police.

Who Is Navneet Rana?

Navneet Kaur Rana is an Indian politician and former actress popularly known for her work in the Telugu cinema. She was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Amravati in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate. In 2024, she contested the elections on a BJP ticket but lost her Amravati seat to Congress candidate Balwant Wankhede.

Controversies In The Past

During a rally in Hyderabad on May 8 this year, Navneet responded to AIMIM Chief Akbaruddin Owaisi’s statement on balancing out the ‘Hindu-Muslim ratio in India in 15 minutes. She hit back at the Owaisi brothers, stating, “If they will take 15 minutes, we will take 15 seconds.”

While campaigning in Gujarat on May 5 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Rana declared, “Those who don’t want to chant Jai Shree Ram can go to Pakistan. This is Hindustan. If you want to live in Hindustan, you must say Jai Shree Ram.
