PM Internship Scheme: Registration To Begin Today – Check How To Apply

The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) will begin the registration process for students under the Prime Minister (PM) Internship Scheme . The registration portal for the youth will be activated at 5 pm today, according to the MCA website. Candidates can apply for it through the official website of MCA at pminternship.mca.gov.in.

While presenting the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament, the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Scheme. The candidates should have passed High School and are of 21-24 years of age are eligible under this scheme.

PM Internship Scheme: How To Apply

  • The Scheme will be run through an online portal, https://pminternship.mca.gov.in/login/. 
  • Eligible and interested candidates can register on the portal.
  • On the homepage, candidate need to complete their profile.
  • The portal will itself create a resume for each candidate.
  • Candidates can choose the preferred fields and location for their internship.
  • Candidates can apply for up to five internships according to their preferences.
  • After applying, submit details and download the confirmation page.
  • Candidates will be notified regarding internship opportunities through their registered email or mobile number.

What Is The Scheme?

The government launched a pilot project under this scheme on October 3, 2024, aiming to provide 1.25 lakh internships for the Financial Year 2024-25. The scheme aims to provide internship opportunities to 1 crore youth over the next five years in India’s top 500 companies. Adani Group, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Wipro are among these 500 companies.

Under the scheme, the youth will be provided a 12-month paid internship. The Scheme aims to provide benefits under a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) model, said the Government. The Government and the companies will collectively offer Rs 5,000 per month for 12 months to the interns under this scheme.
