Global star Rajinikanth was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Monday night (September 30) after experiencing severe stomach pain. As informed by the hotel staff, the 76-year-old actor will undergo Elective Procedure- a heart related surgery on Tuesday. While the news created a sense of panic among his fans and family members, the latest update coming from the hospital is that his condition is stable for now. When a media organisation contacted his wife for a health update, she said, “All is well.”
As reported by CNN-News18, the medical procedure will be performed under the supervision of interventional cardiologist Dr Sai Satish.
Thalaivar has been busy with two of his upcoming films namely Vettaiyan by Director Gnanavel Raja and Coolie by Lokesh Kanagaraj. And former is slated to release on October 10.
Medical History
Rajinikanth underwent a kidney transplant in 2016. The surgery happened in Singapore, and following that, the actor distanced himself from politics. It was reported that the much-needed step was taken in view of his health condition.
In 2020, Rajinikanth’s health once again worried fans as he got admitted to the hospital owing to high blood pressure. He was later tested for COVID-19, but the results came out negative. In an official statement, the hospital had revealed, “He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged. Apart from fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion he does not have any other symptoms and is hemodynamically stable.”
