Finally, after 72-hours of in-depth scanning, BSF was able to detect terror tunnel used by four Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) Fidayeen to sneak into Indian side from Samba sector.
Giving details, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dilbagh Singh, told Times Now that on November 18 night, four Jaish jihadis, who were camping at Pakistan’s Chakpura terror launchpad – opposite BSF’s Regal Post in Samba sector – used this terror tunnel to crawl like rodents into the Indian side of the border to carry out a spectacular attack on 12th anniversary of 26/11.
“This tunnel was dug recently and was covered with sandbags having markings of Karachi based factory,” informed DGP Singh while also adding that these footprints of Pakistan are enough to nail their lies and ugly design.
After sneaking in through this terror tunnel, all the four Jaish terrorists taking advantage of darkness and thick elephant grass managed to reach the roadside to board truck already waiting for them.
However, this time concrete, specific and pointed information led to the alert police personnel foiling Pakistan’s sinister plot, killing all four Jaish terrorists near Ban Toll Plaza, Nagrota, who were on their way to the Kashmir Valley.
Ever since failed Nagrota terror attempt, BSF personnel were on job to find out the infiltration route.
“With no telltale sign visible on the ground, it was not an easy task. Hard work put in by our jawans on the ground finally today morning helped us locate the opening of terror tunnel used by Jaish jihadis to infiltrate,” said N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu Frontier.
While scanning every inch of border close to Regal Post, BSF was finally able to find out the opening of the tunnel, that was covered by Pakistan made sandbags.
Opening of the terror tunnel is around 150 metres from the international border (IB) towards the Indian side.
This is the ninth terror tunnel detected along the international border during the last few years. On August 28 BSF during anti tunnelling operation, had detected a similar tunnel in Bain Galar area of Samba.
For the last few years it has been observed that besides LoC, Samba and Hira Nagar along IB have been favourite infiltration routes for Pakistan sponsored terrorists. And Samba is the favourite infiltration route of the Jaish terrorists.
Masood Azhar’s nephew, Umar Farooq – key player in Pulwama bombing – in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred -had infiltrated from Samba sector in February 2018.
Pakistan Army’s role in pushing terror through tunnel exposed
Pakistan made sandbags with the marking of Shakargarh and Karachi factories were found at the mouth of the tunnel to hide it.
One thing is clear that this tunnel was not meant for one-time use. With detection of this infiltration route, BSF troops have therefore foiled Pakistan’s nefarious design to again use this sub-terranean route to push Jaish ultras.
The tunnel’s origin is in Pakistan territory close to IB. Alignment of the tunnel leads one towards Chakpura Border Outpost of Pakistani Rangers.
Looking at the designing of the tunnel, senior BSF officers feel that without the help of Pakistani establishment such construction is not possible. “Tunnel dug from Pakistan side is approximately 20 feet deep and has got a diameter of about 3-4 feet so that terrorists can easily sneak in,” said IG BSF.
Rogue Pakistan is desperate to push terror
Already there are inputs that more than 300 terrorists after completing their arms training in jihadi factories are waiting at several launch pads along LoC and IB, looking for an opportunity to sneak into the Indian side.
There have been regular inputs about the presence of terrorists in Pak border villages desperately looking for infiltration into the indian territory.
Vigilant counter-infiltration grid both on the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) is making things difficult for Pakistan to push in terrorists.
Failing to push in terrorists into the Indian side from traditional infiltration routes along IB and LoC, now Pakistan has resorted to sub-terranean means of pushing in ultras.
The reason is obvious – there is a lot of desperation on the Pakistan side because:
1. Right now there is political upheaval and turmoil in Pakistan. First time in the history of Pakistan, mainstream political parties have dared to launch a scathing attack on the Pakistan Army. To divert attention from problems back home, Pakistan Army is trying to escalate terror-related activities in Kashmir Valley.
2. By carrying out a terror attack of the magnitude of Pulwama bombing, Pakistan is once again trying to internationalise the Kashmir issue.
3. Pakistan is desperate to scuttle democratic process by targetting forthcoming district development council (DDC) elections. The reason is that Ever since Article 370 has been abrogated, Pakistan had been pedalling lies to portray Indian in a bad light. Pakistan had unleashed a fake narrative before the international community that not a single person in Kashmir is with India or idea of one India. But all their calculations and propaganda got defeated following great enthusiasm and response shown by people of Kashmir during the campaign of grass root level democratic process.
To generate fear psychosis among people to ensure low voter turn put, Pakistan is pushing in their proxies to spill the blood of Kashmiris by carrying out a big terror attack.
4. More than 200 terrorists – of which 50 of them are top commanders -owing allegiance to Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul Mujahideen have been eliminated by security forces during the last few months in Kashmir Valley.
To boost the sagging morale of terror outfits, Pakistan spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) wants to push in more and more terrorists. Palestinian terror group Hamas used tunnel network to target Israel.
Earlier, a network of terror tunnels was used by the Palestinian terror group Hamas to sneak into Isreal to target their troops. In late ’90s several terror tunnels were busted by Israelian troops. Now similar tactics are being used by the Pakistani Army and it spy intelligence agency ISI.
