Satyendar Jain withdraws application restraining media to air CCTV leaks; says will move to HC

Senior advocate Rahul Mehra appearing for Satyendar Jain in Rouse Avenue Court withdrew the application which sought direction to restrain media to broadcast any CCTV clips of the Delhi minister. The Rouse Avenue Court allowed the withdrawal, and advocate Rahul Mehra said that he will move to the Delhi High Court.
Advocate Rahul Mehra said before the court, “The statement made in court regarding media leaks has not been followed. Media has the advantage as it has not been restrained.”
To which the judge replied, “You want me to restrain media without hearing them? Can I pass such ex-parte orders?”
Following this, advocate Rahul Mehra sought permission to withdraw the application and move to the Delhi High court to get orders to restrain media. The court granted him the liberty to do so and he immediately moved to the Delhi High Court.
Advocate Mehra and Jain’s wife informed Court that “this food has been purchased by Satyendar Jain. The jail has not provided him with the food, so he has had to buy this food.”
Mehra for Jain submitted that the medical report says he’s only been on a diet of fruits and vegetables for the last 4 months. The diet recommends almonds, mixed seeds, dates, and walnuts.
