Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the newly formed government will fulfil the promise of providing 10 lakh jobs he had made during RJD’s campaign for the 2020 Assembly elections.
“There are several vacant posts in government departments. We will start by filling these up. Just for the time till we become fully functional after proving a majority on the floor of the Assembly,” Yadav told a news channel.
JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the eighth time and Yadav as his deputy on Wednesday. The development took place a day after Kumar walked out of the BJP-led NDA and joined hands with the RJD and other opposition parties, including the Congress, to form a Mahagathbandhan’ government.
The RJD leader said that his party, which emerged as the single-largest party in 2020 state polls, cannot think of going back on its promise of providing employment of youth.
Accusing the BJP of denting the image of his party, Yadav said people will see beyond the saffron party’s charges once they see the performance of his government.
