Neena Gupta is truly an inspiration and no one can deny this. From being a single mother to kick-starting her second innings with a bang, the veteran actress has proved that she will never bow down. Recently, in an interview, Gupta went on to share that her parents wanted her to be an IAS officer and they were against the idea of her shifting to Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood.
But luckily for all the movie lovers, something else was written in her destiny. Talking about the initial years of her career, the veteran actress went on to share that she used to be jealous of Shabana Azmi.
She told Indian Express, “Long time back, I used to be jealous of Shabana Azmi because she used to get all the nice parts. There were many other actresses also. Sometimes I was told that we are doing this role but was thrown out from it.” Gupta also shared that she is much calmer now because she is getting good parts to play.
She also stated that now her competition is with herself, adding that she should not do anything wrong and do her work more professionally.
