I think I can break 117m mark: DC star makes bold claim about PBKS batter Liam Livingstone’s IPL 2022 record

Despite Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) hot and cold start to the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL), English batter Liam Livingstone has been in exceptional form for them with the bat. His explosive knocks in the middle overs has helped the Mayank Agarwal-led franchise outfox their opponents on several occasions in the ongoing season.
So far in the 2022 IPL, he has 293 runs to his name in 10 innings at an astonishing strike-rate of 186.62. He has reached the 50 mark on three times so far. While his consistent run-making has been a big positive for PBKS, it is his big sixes that have left cricket fans awestruck.
During PBKS’s game vs Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, Livingstone smashed a humongous hit of 117m of Mohammed Shami to record the biggest hit of the 15th edition. The English all-rounder upstaged Dewald Brevis who had smashed a 112m six earlier in the tournament from PBKS spinner Rahul Chahar’s bowling.
While Livingstone’s hit became the talk of the town, Delhi Capitals (DC) star Rovman Powell has made a big claim after his side’s important win vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. The West Indies batter has claimed that he can break Livingstone’s record and hit a bigger six than 117m.
Powell played a key role in DC’s 21-run vs SRH with a stupendous knock of 67 in 35 balls. He built an incredible 122-run partnership with Warner, who scored a 58-ball 92. Powell smashed a massive 102m of Umran Malik’s bowling.
