Like Ayodhya and Kashi, Mathura should also have a grand temple: BJP MP Hema Malini

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Hema Malini  asserted that there should be a grand temple in Mathura, just like Ayodhya and Kashi.

Expressing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the actor-turned-politician said that a Kashi Vishwanath-like corridor will soon come up in Mathura.

Hema Malini, who is an MP from Mathura, was in the city to participate in a programme. While speaking to media, she said, “After the restoration of Ram Janmabhoomi and Kashi, naturally Mathura is also very important.”

She confirmed that she will be visiting Kashi on Monday on an invitation.

“Being the MP of Mathura, which is the birthplace of Lord Krishan who is the symbol of love and affection, I will say that there should be a grand temple. A temple is already there and can be beautified like Modi ji developed Kashi Vishwanath corridor and the river Ganga can be seen directly from the temple,” she added.

“This change (renovation and redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath) was very difficult. This shows his (Modi’s) farsightedness. This will also happen in Mathura,” hoped the BJP MP.

The chorus for a temple in Mathura is growing louder by the day as Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh inches closer. A host of BJP leaders and ministers have raked up the issue in the last month.

The elections will be held in February-March next year for 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh.
