‘Pak’s denial of victim’s account is stooping to a new low’: MEA on abduction of Afghan diplomat’s daughter

Days after Pakistan Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed blamed India for the abduction and torture of the daughter of Afghan ambassador Najibullah Alikhil, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) termed Islamabad’s denial of the victim’s account “a new low”.

This statement from the MEA comes after Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed called the abduction of Silsila Alikhil, a conspiracy by Indian agency R&AW to defame Pakistan.

Briefing the media, MEA spokesperson said, “This is a shocking incident. However, since Pak Interior Minister has dragged India into it, I would like to say that even by their standards, Pakistan’s denial of the victim’s account is stooping to a new low.”

Afghanistan strongly condemned the heinous act and expressed its deep concern over the safety and security of diplomats, their families, and staff members of the Afghan political and consular missions in Pakistan.

The Afghan leadership also called back the envoy and senior diplomats from Pakistan until all security threats are addressed, including the arrest and trial of the perpetrators of abduction.

It also summoned Pakistan’s Ambassador in Kabul and lodged an official complaint

As per the reports, an Afghan delegation is expected to visit Pakistan soon to assess and follow up on the case.

On Wednesday, a former Pakistani diplomat’s daughter was beheaded over a breakup in Islamabad.

According to Bol News, the victim identified as 27-year-old Noor Mukadam was the daughter of Shaukat Muqakam, who served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to South Korea and Kazakhstan.

As per the cops, she was stabbed and beheaded with a sharp instrument after firing, while another person was injured in the incident.

A friend of the girl has been arrested for her alleged involvement in the incident.

The killer identified as Zahir Jaffar is the son of the CEO of a leading construction company in Islamabad.
