In a piece of wonderful news that is sure to drive away your mid-week blues, Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has welcomed her first child with her husband Vaibhav Rekhi. The actress shared the happy news with her fans, followers, and well-wishers on social media on Wednesday morning.
The actress paraphrased Elizabeth Stone and wrote, “To have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
She went on to reveal that they welcomed their son on May 14, two months ago, and shared what they’ve named their firstborn, and opened up about welcoming the little one to their family. “These words perfectly exemplify Vaibhav & my feelings right now. Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU.”
The actress then shared that a sudden appendectomy during her pregnancy and a subsequent bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life-threatening. “Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section,” wrote the actress.
In the same post, Dia talked about all that she’s learning from her little one already. Elaborating, “As we watch this tiny being, this Zen master in awe and wonder, we learn from him, in all humility, the true meaning of trusting the universe and of parenthood. And to not be afraid, and so we humbly take the lead from his resilience and courage. We do not have enough words to thank all those who continue to help us live this story of hope and faith and create a safe, healing, nurturing space for Avyaan and I. He will be home soon and his elder sister Samaira and grand parents are waiting to hold him in their arms.”
The actress also talked about sharing this news a little late with fans and wrote if it was possible to share this news before, she would have. Many of Dia’s friends from the industry including Malaika Arora, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Masaba Gupta among others have congratulated the couple on the arrival of their little blessing.
