Broken But Beautiful Season 3 has received appreciation from fans on social media and critics too. The web series has been directed by Priyanka Ghose and features Sidharth Shukla and Sonia Rathee in lead roles. The web show received great reviews, but the director has revealed that she did not watch Sidharth’s previous work, before directing him. “I wanted to start with a clean slate”.

Priyanka who made her solo web series debut with Broken But Beautiful, spoke to Times Now Digital exclusively about why she refrained from watching Sidharth’s previous work. The director revealed that she wanted to start from a clean slate, and not judge Sidharth based on his previous work.

“I wanted to start with a clean slate. Sometimes it is tough to judge an actor based on the content. It is just not the actor but the director, script and everything. I wanted to stay away from seeing his previous work and of course, I knew he was very popular.  When I was offered the project, was already told that they want Sidharth to play Agastya. When I came on board I had heard of him but had no idea of his previous work. I purposely refrained from looking at any of his previous work, the minute I knew he would be working with him. I did not want to be tainted with the kind of roles he has played before or the kind of performance he has given before”, she said.

Priyanka also admitted to the fact that she was under pressure as it was her debut web show, and Sidharth was very popular.  “I was working with a star. The expectations were high”, she added.

Talking about her debut with an emotional drama, Priyanka revealed that she took up the project as the script and content had resonated with her. She said, “It is very important that you are super convinced. Halfway down you will not be able to figure it out. The concept and script have to attract me. I need to know who the writers are, as that is the first stage of my collaboration. I should be able to collaborate well and the rest falls in place”.

To talk about Broken But Beautiful 3, the storyline is new with a fresh new cast. Sidharth essays the role of Agastya- who is a director and theatre writer. Rumi plays the role of a girl hailing from an affluent family. The plot of the web show revolves around love and heartbreak.
