Virat Kohli has never failed to be a crowd magnet, his enthusiastic energy at the ground lights up everything. At 36, the ex-Indian skipper is as energetic and charismatic as ever, with his strong performances, victory thumbs-up, and unparalleled charm during games.
Recently, Kohli’s off-field character got a glowing testimonial from the legend MS Dhoni. In a viral clip going around on social media, the two-time World Cup-winning captain legend was requested to use one word to describe Kohli, and Dhoni, heaped huge praise.
“Good singer, dancer, and he does wonderful mimicry as well,” said Dhoni, beaming. When the interviewer opined calling Kohli the “ultimate entertainment package,” the Chennai Super Kings legend agreed and said, “He is in the mood, then he is very, very entertaining!”
Kohli and Dhoni have a long-standing friendship which goes way beyond the cricket pitch. It was Dhoni who led Kohli into international cricket way back in 2008, and over the years their bond has only grown stronger, founded on respect and friendship.
Kohli is taking time off in the United Kingdom with his family after retiring from T20Is and Test cricket. Dhoni, meanwhile, retired from international cricket in 2020 but still keeps fans entertained in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Earlier in IPL, Dhoni had passed on the CSK captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad before IPL 2024. Yet, the veteran was brought back into the game’s fold in IPL 2025 when Gaikwad was out due to a hand injury, serving notice that his stake in the game is far from done.
