‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ Vs ‘Dhadak 2’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Both Films Hit A Slump On Monday

Two highly anticipated sequels, Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, released in theatres on August 1. While Son of Sardaar 2 brings back Ajay Devgn in a comic avatar, Dhadak 2 offers a fresh take on romance with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead. Both films had a fair amount of buzz before release, but now that they’re out, audiences and critics are reacting quite differently to each. As they compete for attention at the box office alongside ongoing hits like Saiyaara and Mahavtar Narasimha, it’s interesting to see how the numbers are shaping up for both.

Son Of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 4:

Son of Sardaar 2 had a decent opening weekend at the box office. It collected Rs 7.25 crore on Day 1 (Friday), followed by a 13.79% rise on Day 2 (Saturday) with Rs 8.25 crore. The momentum continued on Day 3 (Sunday), bringing in Rs 9.25 crore with a 12.12% jump. However, the film witnessed a drastic dip on Day 4 (Monday), with early estimates suggesting a sharp fall to just Rs 2.5 crore, a significant drop from Sunday’s earnings. This brings the total four day collection to around Rs 27.25 crore.

The response for Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ hasn’t been too promising. The film has largely received mixed to negative reviews. Earlier this year, Raid 2 had a much better start, earning Rs 19.25 crore on its first day. Good reviews and positive word of mouth pushed the film past Rs 100 crore within just a few days.

About Son Of Sardaar 2

Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ also features the late actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025, just a few months before the film’s release. The first part of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ was released in 2012 and starred Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt.

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 4:

Despite the buzz around its release, Dhadak 2 is struggling at the box office, crawling its way through the first weekend. The weekend drama had a modest start at the box office with Rs 3.5 crore on its opening Friday. The film saw a slight jump on Day 2, collecting Rs 3.75 crore, marking a 7.14% growth. Day 3 witnessed a further rise with Rs 4.15 crore, showing a 10.67% increase. However, the momentum dipped significantly on Day 4, with early estimates suggesting a collection of just Rs 1.40 crore. With this, the film’s total collection stands at approximately Rs 12.80 crore over its first four days.

The romantic drama is facing tough competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn’s sequel Son of Sardaar 2. Meanwhile, Saiyaara and the animated film Mahavtar Narasimha are also performing strongly.

About Dhadak 2

Dhadak 2, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, explores themes of caste and social discrimination. It is a love story between two law students. But their relationship is tested as they face many problems that try to pull them apart. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film is a spiritual successor to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak, which originally launched Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter.

The film also features Vipin Sharma, Manjiri Pupala, Deeksha Joshi, Priyank Tiwari, Amit Jaat, Mayank Khanna, and Ashwant Lodhi.
