In a major breakthrough, the mastermind behind the murder of NCP MLA Baba Siddique has been arrested in Canada. Zeeshan Akhtar also known as Jassi or Yasin Akhtar has been taken into custody by local authorities in Canada. Baba Siddique was tragically shot dead on October 12, 2024 outside his son’s office in Bandra. According to sources, authorities are now working to bring Zeeshan Akhtar back to India for further investigation and legal proceedings. It is believed that Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother-in-law was also involved in the murder of NCP leader.

Reports further suggest that the killing was orchestrated by Lawrence and the motive behind the murder is linked to Baba’s close ties with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. It is alleged that due to his rapport with the actor, Baba was targeted and killed. Notably, initial arrests in the Baba Siddique murder case revealed links to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang. A total of 26 individuals have been arrested until now, including main shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam and Anmol Bishnoi.

Reportedly, Lawrence had planned firing incident at the residence of Singer AP Dhillon in Canada. Following his tragic killing, Baba’s son Zeeshan Siddique had also received numerous threats.

Sources stated that the extradition process has been started and Zeeshan will be brought to India soon. Authorities are closely monitoring the developments and further details are awaited.

Who Is Zeeshan Akhtar?

Earlier on October 14, Mumbai Crime Branch had identified a fourth suspect named Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, involved in the killing. Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar is reportedly believed to have coordinated with the shooters from outside, providing crucial information on Siddique’s location and logistical support including arranging rental accommodations for them.

Akhtar is a resident of Shakar village in Nakodar, Jalandhar. He was arrested earlier in 2022 for cases related to organized crime, murder, and robbery, and was released on June 7, 2024. It was said that while being lodged in Patiala Jail, he received instructions from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to kill Siddique.
