‘A war-like situation’

After holding a meeting with all political parties, Alam said, “ We are facing a war-like situation inside and outside the country, and it is impeding our growth.”

Yunus had expressed to step down from his post

Alam said the interim government head met over 20 political parties on May 25 and shared above said thoughts during the meeting.  He reportedly said that “Everything has collapsed and we are heading towards servitude.” The meeting occurred after reports emerged that Yunus wanted to step down as the interim government head.

Political parties demanded for poll dates

Yunus further said, “Since the ban has been imposed on Awami League, attempts have been made to destabilise the country and we all need to stay away from such activities.” Yunus stressed that none of his actions would harm the image of the nation. The interim government head’s appeal came amid growing demands from political parties for poll dates.
