Another Suspected Pakistani Spy Arrested From Kutch Border; Allegedly Sent Sensitive Info To ‘Aditi Bhardwaj’ Via WhatsApp

Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Gujarat ATS has arrested another suspected Pakistani spy, Sahdev Singh Gohil, from the Kutch border.

According to the sources, Sahadev Singh Gohil was a health worker who has been arrested from the border areas of Kutch on charges of spying for Pakistan. The accused was arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) after it was discovered that Gohil was allegedly in contact with a Pakistani agent operating under the name of Aditi Bhardwaj.

ATS investigations have revealed that Gohil was regularly giving away crucial and sensitive information about Indian border areas, including those who were vital to the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Navy. He reportedly shared a lot of detailed information and even photographs of BSF and Navy installations, posing a serious national security risk. Furthermore, the reports have suggested that Gohil was continuously sending details about various locations within Gujarat to his handlers in Pakistan.

Authorities have also revealed that Gohil was engaged in “contractual espionage” for Pakistan, with information indicating that he received payments as high as ₹40,000 for only a single instance of passing classified data. The ATS has sent Gohil’s phone to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for a more detailed analysis, hoping that they would retrieve more evidence and identify further contacts.

Preliminary findings have suggested that Gohil had been in contact with the Pakistani agent, Aditi Bhardwaj, via WhatsApp since June-July 2023. More recently, in January 2025, Gohil had acquired an Indian SIM card using his own Aadhar card. This SIM card was then activated in February 2025 by the Pakistani agent via WhatsApp OTP, which helped him to do direct WhatsApp calls and messaging for clandestine communication. This method allowed him to maintain covert contact and relay sensitive information to his handlers across the border.
