WPL 2025: RCB Can Still Crush MI’s Final Hopes – Here’s Why!

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is in its last leg and Mumbai Indians still have a lot on stake for their final league match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Even though RCB is still out of the contest they have the opportunity to shake things up and denying MI’s bid for a direct spot in the the final.

What Happens If RCB Defeats Mumbai Indians?

For the moment, Delhi Capitals (DC) are observing closely the result, because ranking at the first position on the table would have a final-spot guarantee without being required to feature in the Eliminator. If MI lose to RCB, they will fall to second position, having to play Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator on March 13. DC, who led the table in both 2023 and 2024, will be keen to extend their reign by topping the table again.

Mumbai Indians’ Road To Playoffs

MI have demonstrated resilience after a poor beginning to their tournament, where they lost their first game to Delhi Capitals by two wickets. But they have made a remarkable comeback since then and now have the opportunity to gain the number one spot with their third successive win.

Mumbai Indians recently won against Gujarat Giants on Monday, March 10. Harmanpreet Kaur scored an incredible 54 runs off 33 balls. Defending a target of 179, MI’s bowling unit delivered under pressure, bundling the Giants out for 170. Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews were the standout performers with the ball, picking up three wickets each.
