The United States issued an advisory for its citizens while asking them not to travel along the India-Pakistan border and Balochistan province over “terrorism and potential conflict”. The US also asked citizens not to visit the Khyber  Pakhtunkhwa region.

The news agency PTI mentioned that the Trump administration asked its citizens to reconsider their travel to the region due to “terrorism and armed conflict.”

In its advisory, the United States said that extremist groups continue to attack Pakistan’s Balochistan province and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province frequently and these attacks claimed the lives of citizens. The US also cited the small attacks that frequently take place within the country.

The advisory cautioned that the terrorist targets shopping malls, railway stations, military installations, airports, universities, tourist attractions, schools, hospitals, places of worship, and government facilities. It said that terrorists had targeted US diplomats and facilities in the past.

Though the advisory issued warnings, it also said that Islamabad has a better capability to respond to emergencies than other parts of the country.

According to news agency Reuters, the Trump administration may impose a ban on entry of citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan into the United States. The report cited that The administration is likely to take the decision after a review, which is under consideration.
