Shark Tank India Season 4: War Of Words Between Anupam Mittal And Namita Thapar; Says ‘I’ll Tear The Cheque…’

Shark Tank India Season 4 kicked off with excitement on January 6th, 2025, and the latest episode brought plenty of drama. Entrepreneurs Rahul Tyagi and Samiksha Yadav introduced a groundbreaking product, India’s first liquid wash designed specially for undergarments that can be used for hand laundry. They were looking for ₹50 lakh in exchange for a 2.5% stake in their business, valued at ₹20 crore. However, the investors, or ‘Sharks,’ needed more details and convincing.

One of the favourite Sharks, Anupam Mittal, questioned whether this product was essential since many detergents on the market make similar claims. Rahul explained that their formula was unique, but another Shark, Aman Gupta, raised doubts about how the product is positioned. He wondered if it was something entirely new or just another detergent.

The pitch became even more interesting when Anupam and fellow Shark Namita Thapar criticized how Rahul and Samiksha presented their idea. They suggested that the entrepreneurs should have highlighted the importance of women’s hygiene instead of starting their pitch with humour. “There are many detergent options, including clean and green ones. Why are you complicating this?” Anupam asked. Namita added, “You started your pitch with humour, but vaginal infections are a major concern. You should have led with that instead.”

When Peyush Bansal asked who the company’s CEO was, Samiksha answered with confidence. “I am.” Peyush then asked another question, “Why are you the CEO?” Before she could reply, Namita quickly interrupted with, “Why not?”. Then Samiksha’s reply caught applause from all the other sharks; she said, “Because I deserve to be the CEO,” and her husband Rahul also backed her up.

Discussion Between Anupam And Namita

Anupam was impressed by the entrepreneurs’ passion and offered them ₹50 lakh (the amount asked) in exchange for a 5% equity in their business. At the same time, Namita and Aman allied and proposed the same amount of ₹50 lakh, but they wanted a 6% share instead. The entrepreneurs attempted to negotiate a deal to satisfy all three investors, but Namita said no.

That’s when Anupam added some pressure by stating, “I’ll agree at 4%, but if you don’t decide now, I’ll tear the cheque.” The tension was high, but after a quick discussion, Rahul and Samiksha accepted Anupam’s offer on Shark Tank India 4.
