Jos Buttler is on the verge to achieve a massive feat as Egland prepares for the third T20I against India which will be held on January 28, at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The 34-year old is just 18 runs away and then he will become the highest run-scorer by a visiting batter in T20Is on Indian soil.

The current record is held by Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, who has accumulated 556 runs from 25 T20Is at an average of 25.27 and a strike rate of 164.49 this includes three fifties and highest score of 189.

In contrast, Buttler has scored 539 runs in 19 T20Is in India, with an impressive average of 44.91 and a strike rate of 153.56. He sits ahead of South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, who has 458 runs from 12 T20Is, and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, who has 445 runs from 14 T20Is.

Buttler has been the top run scorer of the series with 113 runs from two games at an average of 56.50. Buttler’s contributions have included a 68-run innings in the first T20I at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, followed by a 45-run performance at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Unfortunately, both his efforts came in losing causes for England.
